Yeast Phenylalanyl Transfer Ribonucleic Acid Synthetase: Purification and Complex Formation with Phenylalanine Transfer Ribonucleic Acid.

Abstract

It has been found that a homogeneous preparation of phenylalanyl aminoacyl- tRNA synthetase (phe-synthetase) from yeast can be obtained if phenylmethylsulfonyl fluoride is used in all buffers and if phosphocellulose chromatography is employed as a terminal step in the purification. Molecular weight was determined, and complexes between phe-synthetase and tRNA(Phe) were observed in the analytical ultracentrifuge. (Modified author abstract)
