STOL Tactical Aircraft Investigation-Externally Blown Flap. Volume V. Flight Control Technology. Part II. Simulation Studies/Flight Control System Validation.

Abstract

The basic objective of the work reported was to provide a broader technology base to support the development of a medium STOL Transport (MST) airplane. This work was limited to the application of the externally blown flap (EBF) powered lift concept. From an overall assessment of study results, it is concluded that the EBF concept provides a practical means of obtaining STOL performance for an MST with relatively low risk.
