Combustion of Vegetative Materials Using Different Compositions of the Surrounding Medium,

Abstract

The object of this study was the coniferous needle of the evergreen. The investigations were conducted in a bomb with a constant volume. The flame propagation rate along the horizontally oriented jointfir needles depends on the composition of the surrounding medium (it was changed by introducing inert gases or oxygen from a bottle) and on the air pressure inside the bomb. The flame propagation rate was determined based on the burn-out time of two needles in contact with one another, and also set at some given distance from one another.
