ONR Lecture of the Annual Meeting of the Society for Industrial Microbiology (1973).

Abstract

The first invitational lecture supported by the Office of Naval Research (ONR) was presented by Dr. Edward P. Abraham of the Sir William Dunn School of Pathology at Oxford University, London, England. The address was entitled 'Reflections on the Penicillins and Cephalosporins', and was presented on August 22, at the Annual 1973 SIM meeting banquet. Because of Dr. Abraham's intimate knowledge and experiences, he was able to offer many insights into the discovery and developments of these valuable antibiotics. The lecture not only covered the antimicrobial and chemical natures of the penicillins and cephalosporins, but their medical importance as well.
