Single Motor Unit Control: Man's Finest Motor Skill.

Abstract

A review and analysis of research in single motor unit isolation and control is presented. Emphasis has been placed on this function as a procedural technique allowing for an evaluation of a basic neuromuscular activity of the voluntary motor system. Research results have demonstrated the potential application of the single motor unit control in a variety of diversified areas including motor skills analyses, human factors, clinical electromyography, physical therapy, and physical rehabilitation.
