Numerical Calculation of a 105MM Gun Blast with Projectile.

Abstract

A two-dimensional hydrodynamic code has been used to calculate the axi-symmetric flow field about the muzzle and projectile of a 105MM howitzer. The calculations use a projectile-fixed coordinate system. The calculated flow field about the muzzle and the projectile is presented as a function of time. The results are compared to relevant analytical and experimental data. (Author)
