Digitizing Holographic Data.

Abstract

Time Average holographic interferograms of a 5 x 5 array of AN/SQS-23 active sonar transducer element were subjected to digital processing in an effort to extract amplitudes of vibration as a function of face location. The degree of additional noise imputed to the data by the intermediate transparency together with the lack of a static interferogram for reference purposes renders the extraction of fringe loci by global double threshold techniques impracticable. Recommendations for successful extraction are presented. (Author)
