Effect of Photofilm Noise in Optical Processing Systems of Synthesizable Aperture Antennas,

Abstract

It is demonstrated that film noises lay restrictions on the dynamic range and number of different levels for signal intensity, and lead to deterioration of the resolving power as well. A method of measurement of these parameters is described and quantitative results for MIKRAT 300 photographic film are presented. Conclusions as to the possible values of the quantities indicated are drawn on the basis of the data given in the report. (Modified author abstract)
