Agonic Engineering Inc. Venturi Recirculator and Carbon Dioxide Absorbent Canister for Use with Hard Hat Diving Equipment,

Abstract

A double-canister, double-venturi recirculating device was evaluated. The flow induced by the venturi was only 10% higher than inlet flow. CO2 absorbent efficiency was only 10% of theoretical, under the test conditions. It would appear that safe operation requires essentially open-circuit flows. The apparatus compares unfavorably with the present helium hardhat in both recirculation and CO2 absorption. (Author)
