Pupil-Retina Interaction: An Analog Eye Response Model.

Abstract

The present method for selecting a given lighting arrangement or set of filters is based primarily on past experience, experimental data using light sensitive equipment, subjective tolerance data, and in some cases legislative regulations. Although these methods have been acceptable in the past, designers need a technique which will predict the response of the pupil and retina to various stimuli as a basis for selecting a lighting design to which a human being will be subjected. To fulfill this need, a model of the pupil-retina interaction has been developed. (Modified author abstract)
