Determination of Base Drag Reduction for Various Fumer Mixes.
Abstract
A test program to determine the base drag reduction due to burning fumer materials was conducted in a blow down wind tunnel. Of the five materials tested, two acted as drag reducers, one gave little drag reduction and two would not burn at the wind tunnel conditions. Heat of combustion values were calculated and also determined experimentally for the five fumer materials. (Author)
