The Development of the US Army Long Range Continuing Balance System (CBS) General Functional Systems Requirement.
Abstract
The report documents a task undertaken for the US Army Materiel Command. The purpose of the task was to develop the system design concept for a permanent method for computing the Army's worldwide asset position and to document the design concept in the form of a General Functional System Requirement. This method, which employs transaction accounting to identify the causes of inventory changes, is referred to as the Long Range Continuing Balance System (CBS).
