Fuel-Rich Magnesium/Oxidizer Mixes as Drag-Reducing Fumers.
Abstract
The Army is seeking increased ammunition effectiveness by reduction of projectile base drag. Evidence is presented that the excess magnesium in fuel-rich magnesium/oxidizer mixes vaporizes and burns with air indicating that these materials are attractive fumer candidates. (Modified author abstract)
