Design of the New TML-4 and TM-220 Tractors for Reclamation Work in Drainage,

Abstract

The report discusses the use of two types of tractors in reclamation work. The authors come to the conclusions that the tractors previously used were not satisfactory for reclamation work in swampy areas due to their lack of mobility. By using a system of counterweights to compensate for implements mounted on the tractors, the new tractors are much more satisfactory. However, the authors point out that the new tractors still use mechanical transmissions which they show to be inadequate. Also, there are some tools used for reclamation work which cannot be satisfactorily mounted on these tractors. They feel it is necessary to develop another type of tractor, a light reclamation tractor of 60-70 horsepower.
