Integration of Strategic and Tactical Planning in the Aluminum Industry.

Abstract

The paper describes the design of an integrated planning system to support strategic and tactical decisions in the aluminum industry. The heart of the system is from any two linear programming models that actively interact with each other. The planning system could serve as a general approach for the development of a formal logistics system in manufacturing firms characterized by a continuous production process. (Author)
