Initial Gamma Radiation Dose in Five Concrete Structures.

Abstract

A method has been developed for calculating initial radiation doses, in buildings with complex geometry, due to secondary gamma rays and fission product gamma rays emanating from an elevated ring source. It uses the adjoint Monte Carlo code SAM-A to compute adjoint currents which may be stored and subsequently coupled with different source flux distributions. The doses at an extensive number of detector points within five different concrete blockhouse benchmark structures have been computed. (Author)
