NMR Studies of Aqueous Solution Structure.

Abstract

Nmr chemical shifts and linewidths are reported for eleven substituted ureas and related compounds as a function of pH in aqueous solution. The effect of various added electrolytes on proton exchange rates and nitrogen relaxation rates is determined. Trends in chemical shifts, exchange rates, and nitrogen relaxation rates are examined for effects ascribable to solution structure. (Author)
