Abstract

The researches supported by this contract are described in the 47 papers, most of which also appeared as ONR technical reports, listed in the bibliography. This report recapitulates in summary form some of the major outcomes of these researches under the major headings: (1) Theory for the Amorphous State; (2) Amorphous Covalently Bonded Systems: phase transformation behavior and structure; (3) Amorphous Metallic Systems: formation and structure and thermal, rheological and phase transformation behavior; (4) Fast Diffusion in Metallic Alloys.
