Fundamentals of Volterra analysis including the difference between the infinite Volterra series and the finite Volterra approximations are given. The nonlinear transfer functions together with basic principles for their measurement are introduced. The crux of canonic modeling of circuits with narrowband inputs is given for linear circuits as an introduction to the corresponding development for nonlinear circuits. (Author)
