A Nonlinear Theory of the Parametric Instability of Waves in a Plasma,

Abstract

The authors study the nonlinear stage of decay instability of an external high-frequency electric field E(t) = (E sub 0 cos (omega sub 0) into Langmuir waves (LW) and ion-sound waves (ISW) (omega sub 0) = (omegs sub k) + (omega sub (-k)), occurring in the linear stage of instability, also determines the nonlinear behavior of the wave system.
