Superconductivity in One- and Two-Dimensional Systems.

Abstract

The report contains an account of an investigation of superconductivity with particular emphasis on systems which may be analyzed in terms of one and two dimensional models. In particular, the mixed crystal system Nb(x)Mo(1-x)S2 was studied, experimentally. In addition a simple theoretical model was developed to account for the increase in the superconducting transition temperature in layered compounds as the number of layers is increased. (Author)
