Simulated Ballistic Testing of Canisters.

Abstract

The report describes an attempt to determine the feasibility of simulating ballistic testing of smoke canisters used in 155- and 105-mm projectiles. The approach was to duplicate the setback, ejection, rotation, and impact forces which actually occur when projectiles are fired. No correlating test data was obtained before the project was terminated. (Author)
