Concept for a Multiple Personnel Airdrop System

Abstract

In order to achieve significant improvement in the Army's airdrop capabilities, unconventional and even radical concepts along with more sophisticated techniques must be considered. One valid concept for reduction of dispersion employs multiple exit of troops from the aircraft. This can be accomplished by use of a container or structure which will deliver a squad size, or larger, fighting unit completely equipped and ready for immediate action upon landing. A particular configuration of a multiple personnel airdrop system is described in detail along with some suggested variations and options of the basic concept.
