The tubes were built with separate input and output solenoid sections which allows for fine adjustments in the focusing. The tubes were packaged similar to existing production tubes. The third tube is in final stages of construction. Tests and evaluations were completed on two tubes and data are presented. Cold tests were conducted to determine the effect of attenuated boron nitride support rods on the center phase-locking strap. An outline of the final packaged tube is shown. (Author)
