Computation of Tidal Currents in the Vicinity of S. Stefano Island,

Abstract

Currents and pollution dispersion in waters around S. Stefano Island (Sardinia) were computed with the EPRF single-layer Hydrodynamical-Numerical (HN) model. A lack of tidal parameters and verification data in the immediate area makes the results of this study a 'best estimate'. Tabular computer output of current velocity and direction and water height in the area are given. Charts of currents at flood and ebb, and an example chart of distribution of pollutants as generated by the HN model are also presented. (Author)
