Interpolations of Surface Wave Trains.

Abstract

There are two FORTRAN subroutines for computing the components of velocity in the wave train of a point source. They differ in the method of approximation. Changing the method from Taylor series expansion to Lagrange interpolation gave a seven-fold increase in efficiency. Three-dimensional interpolation in a table of data would not be more economical.
