Methods of Solution of the Direct Problem of Gravimetric Surveying (Metody Resheniya Pryamoi Zadachi Gravimetricheskoi Razvedki),

Abstract

Three new methods are discussed for solving the direct problem of gravimetric surveying for three-dimensional geological masses of arbitrary form and dimensions. These methods provide a high accuracy and rate of computations and can be used by computers. Included are the following topics: Tables of direct gravity effects for computing gravity anomalies of three-dimensional bodies of arbitrary form and dimensions with the aid of a square graticule, nomograms for computing the gravitational effect of geological strate by a series of parallel cross sections, and procedure for computing the gravitational effect of gently sloping masses by the condensation method.
