Plastic Flow of a Metal Broached by a Closed Sharp Curved Die,

Abstract

Combined fields of slipping and velocity lines are studied for the case of piercing with a sharp, curved punch at low compressions. A formula is produced for calculation of the forces necessary to achieve the process of metal flow. The interval of compression in which the solution given is correct is determined. The dependence of the solution of the problem considering friction on the tool is demonstrated.
