Overstress Qualification Test for the Multiple Satellite Dispenser 5 LBF Rocket Engine Assembly REA 16-9,

Abstract

The report presents the results of a portion of a Qualification Overstress test program on Hamilton Standard Rocket Engine Assembly 16-9, a nominal 5.0 lbf hydrazine monopropellant engine. This phase of the testing was concerned with verification of the nozzle thrust coefficients and critical soakback testing of the REA. Thrust calibration testing showed that the analytical predictions for thrust coefficient are within 1% of the experimental data, but that a 1% decrease in the input thrust coefficient table is indicated.
