The Converging Factors for the Fresnel Integrals

Abstract

The theory of the converging factors for the Fresnel integrals is developed from that of the converging factors for the sine and cosine integrals, and is then applied to the calculation on a CDC 6700 system of tables of these factors and their reduced derivatives to about 35 decimal places. The factors were used in conjunction with appropriately truncated asymptotic series to produce appendixed 28-place tables of the Fresnel integrals S2(x), C2(x) and of the closely related rocket functions rr(x) and ri(x), for successive integer values of x from 1 through 70. An abridged 28-place table of S(x) and C(x), for x ranging from 1 through 6, is also included.
