The Waters of the Eastern Gulf of Mexico as Observed During May 1972. I. Data Collected Aboard the R/V Alaminos.

Abstract

This report is the first of a series of reports presenting data collected during May of 1972 in a joint effort by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Agency/Atlantic Oceanographical and Meteorological Laboratory (NOAA/AOML), Nova University, the State University System Institute of Oceanography/Florida (SUSIO), University of Miami, Instituto de Geofisica/Universidad National Autonoma de Mexico, and Texas A+M University. This joint field effort has been declared a part of the Cooperative Investigations of the Caribbean and Adjacent Regions (CICAR) Program. The basic objective was to simultaneously monitor the Loop Current and the currents in the Yucatan and Florida Straits. In particular, this report presents the data collected during Cruise 72-A-9 of Texas A+M University's R/V ALAMINOS. (Author)
