Multivariate Statistical Analysis.

Abstract

The report is divided into two parts. The first part presents minimum variance unbiased estimation for truncated Poisson processes. The feature of this part is the application of Poincare's formula and certain combinatorial results for the derivation of the distribution of the sum of independent Poisson variables truncated away from zero. The second part presents explicit expressions for the minimum variance unbiased estimates of certain functions of the parameters of the logarithmic, The Poisson, and the negative binomial distribution under general truncation on the left. Each of these distributions is treated as a special case of a generalized power series distribution. (Author)
