Proceedings of the Forum on Storage Effects on Equipment,
Abstract
The forum on storage effects on equipment addressed the problems involved in storing, preparing for storage, extracting from storage and subsequent use of military materiel. Various agencies of AMC which have responsibilities in this area presented their views and generated an open discussion on the broad aspects of storage, preservation, doctrine, training, state of the art, and effects of long term storage on the performance of equipment. Recent advances in techniques, methods and materials to lessen the adverse impact of idleness upon a weapon's designed and expected capability were discussed. (Modified author abstract)
