Development of Elastic-Plastic Finite Element Analysis of Bodies of Revolution with Different Orthotropic, Temperature-Dependent Material Properties in Tension and Compression,

Abstract

The first phase progress report for the development of an elastic-plastic finite element analysis of bodies of revolution with different orthotropic, temperature-dependent material properties in tension and compression is presented. The formulation of linear-strain triangular finite element equations and their associated iterative initial-strain solution technique are given. A method of analyzing plastic deformations of anisotropic materials is proposed. (Author)
