Abstract
AND FILES. Such a capability is vital to an improved Indications and Warning system to provide in-depth analysis and dynamic event evaluation. The purpose of the Final Technical Report of the Terminal Independent Support System segment of the Terminal Oriented Support System (TOSS) is to provide the TOSS network design concepts which address the development of intelligence analyst techniques and procedures for: access to remote data bases; cross-correlation of data; and the creation of finished intelligence products. Because of the fact that the I and W network is heterogeneous (dissimilar) in equipment and configuration, TOSS must overcome the problems of integrating the components by incorporating the concepts of Transparency and Modularity. These concepts are embodied in the design of the system's two major components: the TOSS Subsystem, and the TOSS Exchange Center (TEC). (Modified author abstract)
