Some Recent Results in Rarefied Gas Dynamics.

Abstract

The report summarizes some of the work done during the reporting period. Two topics are discussed: the first is related to the general theory of the Boltzmann equation, the second to the effects of gas-surface interaction on the recovery temperature in free-molecular flow. The general solution of the linearized Boltzmann equation for one dimensional steady problems is presented.
