Spectrometer for Far Infrared Astronomy.

Abstract

The doubly encoded Hadamard Transform Spectrometer which has a 509 x 255 slots configuration was constructed and tested. A spectral resolution of 1000 was demonstrated in various experimental conditions in laboratory and some results are shown in the report. Then the instrument was brought at Kitt Peak National Observatory and used to obtain some astronomical data. A preliminary test was also conducted for the airborne operation of the instrument.
