Microwave Dielectric Response of Non-Spherical Particles by Modulation Techniques.
Abstract
A method was developed to investigate the dielectric response of non-spherical zinc oxide particles in a gaseous suspension. The method exploited a change in a microwave cavity resonance when the particles were aligned with respect to the microwave electric field. To enhance the detectability of this change, modulation techniques were employed for alignment and detection purposes. A theory was devised to explain this method and experiments were conducted. The particle response demonstrated saturation. The relaxation frequency is reported. (Modified author abstract)
