Parametric Missile Design Study for an All-Weather, Low Altitude Air Defense System (AWLAADS).

Abstract

The report presents the results of a parametric study conducted to determine the general physical and performance characteristics of a group of all-weather, air defense missiles capable of engaging low-flying threat aircraft to the Field Army in the 1975-1980 time frame. Preliminary missile designs are presented which meet the study objectives, and the advantages of a boost-sustain motor over an all-boost design are discussed. (Author)
