Safety Evaluation of Anti-Mist Fuels.

Abstract

The report presents the results of a test program conducted to evaluate the post-crash fire safety properties of five anti-mist fuels in a simulated full-scale crash environment. The base fuel for each antimist fuel formulation was a kerosene-type turbine fuel. The results of this program indicated that four of the anti-mist fuels showed significant improvement in post-crash fire safety over conventional liquid fuels such as JP-4 and JP-8. (Author)
