Implementation of a One-Way Ranging, Range-Range Navigation System.

Abstract

A brief discussion of topics peripheral to the implementation of All-weather, Low-level Navigation by one-way ranging and rho-rho geometry is given. Of interest are digital phase measurement techniques, especially simplified versions using binary counting and processing. Improvements to a superheterodyne navigation receiver are suggested. The elimination of the on-board atomic (rubidium) clock is pursued through analysis of autocorrelation techniques, up-date of crystal clocks, and by other approaches involving an additional transmitter or more complex processing of signals.
