Studies in Gravitational Theory.

Abstract

The research described in the report is concerned with the Newman-Penrose constants, conservation laws, equations of motion, and quantization of general relativity. In most of these topics the use of null coordinates plays an essential role. Quantization is discussed in terms of null surfaces and in terms of space-like surfaces. The introduction of twistors is presented at length and their possible relationship to a quantum theory of gravitation is discussed briefly. (Author)
