Mechanics of Deformable Solids--Eurasian Communist Countries.

Abstract

The study reports on ECC research and development in the mechanics of deformable solids. Topics covered include fracture and fracture mechanics, fatigue, wear, strengthening mechanisms and finite element methods. It summarizes the most important and recent theories, presents experimental approaches where appropriate, and gives examples applied to materials of known or expected military significance. The impact of the improvement of existing and development of new materials as a consequence of advanced technology is discussed with respect to developments of ECC military technology. (Author)
