Human Engineering Test Specification for Aircraft Systems,

Abstract

The report presents the results of a study program performed to develop a human engineering test specification and management manual. Human engineering testing is required by military specification MIL-H-46855, dated 16 February 1968, in paragraphs 3.2.4 and 30.3.12. These paragraphs establish the general requirement and the authority for implementing human engineering testing. The detailed human engineering test requirements are not specified in the paragraphs. It was felt that a more detailed definition of the test methods and procedures, data acquisition requirements, and formats would provide the basis for a more standard approach by contractors to meet the requirements of MIL-H-46855. The contractor proposed to prepare a preliminary human engineering test specification and management manual as part of the program.
