Local Buckling of Orthotropic Truss-Core Sandwich.

Abstract

This report analyzes the local buckling mode of compression failure of truss-core sandwich when compressed parallel to core flutes. A mathematical analysis is presented for the general case of similar equal orthotropic facings and dissimilar core of unequal sheet thickness. Seven cases are calculated and buckling curves are presented. The results are found to be applicable to dissimilar facings. (Author-PL)
