The Impact of Computer-Based Management Information Systems on the Future Organization of the Army.

Abstract

The introduction of computer-based management information systems is having a traumatic impact on organizations and the practice of management. The report presents an evaluation of the recent views of management authorities on the changes to be expected as the result of the use of computers. How these changes may apply to the peculiar organizational requirements of the Army is examined. The report describes the current stage of the Army's adaptation with particular emphasis on the departmental-level functions of guidelines for the Army's adaptation to the changing management environment.
