Roentgenoluminescence of Alkalihalide Crystals Activated by Bivalent Europium,

Abstract

The study of a number of alkalihalide crystals with an Eu(2+) additive disclosed that, despite one and the same activator, the mechanism of recombination luminescence has its own special fetaures in various base materials. The authors proceeded with investigations along these lines using NaBr, NaI, and CsI crystals activated with Eu(2+); the specimens were grown from a melt with europium concentration in the melt of 0.01 and 0.1 wt. %.
