High-Strength Steels,

Abstract

The monograph examines the achievements of mainly USSR physical metallurgy in the area of high-strength structural and stainless steels. Their structure and heat treatment are described. Properties are given and features of the use of new types of high-strength steels are shown. Considerable attention is given to the different forms of brittle fracture and to means of preventing them. Practical recommendations are given on the application and technology of treating parts made of the high-strength steels. (Author)
