The Impact of Modern Communications Technology on Political Ideas.

Abstract

The study examines the impact that recent advances in communications have had on political ideas. The paper examines the significant improvements in communications technology in recent years and then studies these improvements relative to four selected political ideas. The ideas selected are: equality, representative government, power politics in international relations, and Communism. From the examination it is concluded that basic political ideas have changed little but that the mechanics, significance and practice of the ideas have been altered by modern communication capabilities.
