Turbulent Wakes

Abstract

Summarizes turbulence model equations and finite difference techniques for solving time-dependent compressible turbulent near wake flows. Turbulence properties are described in terms of two variables, the turbulent kinetic energy and an integral length scale. The resulting six partial differential equations are solved using an alternating-direction implicit finite difference method. Solutions are presented for hypersonic flows.
